Open Air in the Plains

Koko sat on the plains letting the wind flow through her hair and face. She enjoyed moments like this and would hate for it to be ruined. She almost stood up and started running down the hills but stopped herself because it brought back too many painful memories of the past.

She bowed her head, she'd ruined her own moment because of her urges to run like when she was still a child. Mother....why, why do you keep hunting me. Why do hunt me so that I can't enjoy the ways of the old. She looked up a tear making its way down her face.

*Kuroi walks up behind her and wiped her tear away with a finger.* "people shouldn't cry, it makes life sad..."

Koko turned to ther side. "It doesn't matter, it natural for people to cry. And besides, my life is already sad." She stood up.

"aslong as your alive, your life can't be sad..." Kuroi stated.

"I guess, people are diffrent." She looked down the hill. "My life ended when...nevermind, I don't want to talk about it." She stood up letting the wind blow against her face for a second. "I've gotta go..."

*Kuroi nods slowly.* "sadness is irrelevant, it is useless. It is an emotions that slows humans down to the point were they cannot complete the objective of their existance."

"Maybe, maybe not. But if it's tru, maybe I'm still here because I'm just waiting to pass. My exsistence doesn't matter anymore."

"If one humans existance dosn't matter, than it will affect anothers, which will affect more, which will slowly destroy the human race..." Kuroi stated plainly, none of his normal happiness in his voice. "Without sadness, the human existances goal would have been acheived by now..."

"Then the world will slowly die then. Because nothing can replace what I lost. Maybe you don't understand that Kuroi, or if you do, maybe you choose to ignore it because you wish not to die without purpose."

".........pain can always be replaced...and it has been..." Kuroi puts his hand to his heart and clenches his shirt tightly. "without happiness, life would have no point, existance would fail, and we'd all die."

Koko sat down. "How can you replace the happiness you have lost when that person or thing was your one and only joy?"

".........I-I had to...I need to fulfill my purpose. That's what they told me..."

"Who?" She looked up at Kuroi." "Who told you that?"

"...all my family...before..." Kuroi stutters these words out quietly.

Koko looks down into the plains. "I see. Maybe, that's what you should do,,ove on, but I, I can't move on. When I try to move on I only remember the pain." She looks down at the ground. "I want to remember the good times, not the bad."

".....I could help with that if you really want it..." Kuroi muttered.

"It's my memories, my pain, my lost, not yours."

"neither of us would feel anything, and the bad times would be gone from your memory forever..."

"Maybe I want to remember the bad. Maybe it's what keeps me going."

"then why do not want to remember them? If you also want to remember them?" Kuroi asked, a bit stunned.

(you just completely contradicted yourself there XD)

(shut up I'm getting to the point.)


She smiled. "Because if I rememeber I know it happened, if I don't then I forget the past. It's too complicated for someone who has forgotten or who choses to forget." She looked up. Her eyes bright. Maybe I should forget, and start a new life. A life that I can enjoy, a life that has purpsose for me.

Kuroi laughed. "you smiled." Happiness returning to his voice.

Koko looked at Kuroi. "I guess." She stood up. I wanna run.

"where do you wanna run to?" Kuroi asked before he could stop himself.

Koko turned around too look at Kuroi. The joy and excitment faded from her as if death had showed its ugly face. She looked down. "Nowhere. I'm leaving."
